Memorable Weekend

posted on January 21st, 2008

This weekend was simply off-the-hook! It will definitely be listed on the "most awesome things of 2008".

On Friday afternoon I didn't do anything special, just watched some TV and relaxed a bit. And I slept a lot. In fact, on Saturday, I woke up at 1.30pm. Yep, that's not a typo! *giggles*

Of course, Saturday went by very fast. I was like "well I just got up" so technically my mind was still thinking it was like noon, while in fact it was 4pm. It was pretty cool, in a weird kind-of-way.

What made this weekend memorable was that one of my best-est friends celebrated his birthday this weekend. On Saturday evening we met up at Valletta and proceeded to go to PV but we went to a restaurant first. The atmosphere was pretty nice. The staff were very friendly and the music was wonderful too. The only thing that I didn't like was that the menu was practically just meat. Meat in every shape and form possible. Ribs, steak, bbq, and every other form imaginable.

Following that, we went to Republic. I like that place but lately there is just way too many people. It takes forever to buy a drink and it takes even longer to find a seat and chill. Since there were so many people we decided to stay outside. It's basically the same minus the comfy couches and music.

After that, we went clubbing as usual.. I met two friends with whom I used to work in summer.. haven't seen them in a long while! I also met another three mates from secondary school.

On Sunday I woke up late again (well, those are the only two days that I get to sleep in, right?). I spent the day relaxed as usual, cleaning up my room, sorting out notes and other papers, and the usual shit. I was supposed to work on the SoK project.. but whatever.

In the evening I went to Valletta with a couple of friends. The bus ride was pretty cool. Just a few people, no traffic at all and it was just relaxing sitting at the back. We just goofed around as usual and before we left we went on the city walls for a bit. It was wonderful to lie down on the walls for a while and watch the night skies. There wasn't a single cloud.. The moon was shining beautifully along with the stars. I wished I could just stay there forever. It just clears my mind from the "troubles".. stuff I have to take care of. It's magnificent to live in an "illusion" for a while and appreciate the universe out there.

Heh I wish this weekend never ended at all. Like, wake up one day and find myself in an infinite loop which makes my life revolves around these two days only. Oh, but I guess that would make it boring then.

I should get going and just work on that damn SoK project. Stupid waste of time. meh.

Isn't that the best way to spend Sundays ;) It brings to mind that Queen's song: "lazing on a Sunday afternoon" :)
hehe I like Sundays.. they're very relaxing. but sometimes they can be boring especially because of the thought "back to school tomorrow".
