It's all going downhill. Well, that's how I see it anyway. Not just my blog, other Maltese ones too. What happened to Confessions of an Atheist, Claire, Sabine and Sandro Vella? You're my f**king legends guys, don't leave me like this.
I remember a little over a year ago, when I ventured into the world of blogging, looking forward to read frequent posts from the blogs I mentioned above. I remember googling through to find a hint of a Maltese blog. I remember reading Claire's "aaa got A in English", Sandro's kull bloggata mimlija kliem hazin, imma jifqak, Sabine's marketing of Gozo (still does, a lot less though) and a list of endless other posts that I loved reading.
Nowadays, there's no excitement. It seems as if there is a lot of new blogs, but there's no real quality, or let me re-phrase, there's no real love of blogging. It seems as if we're blogging to just keep blogging, with a post every so often so we don't completely get cut off from the world. Or just opening a blog for the fun of it.
Of course, I'm not saying it's the bloggers fault or something like that. If I had to judged blogs, I'd better take a deep look at my blog, since it will be the first to go down on quality content, and a quick look at the side bar reveals that posts per month are going down.
On my side, I'm not blogging as I used to because of several reasons. Mainly, it's natural that the first few weeks there are a lot of posts, since you're happy with your new blog. Secondly, I'm getting a bit paranoid to be honest. I mean this is the World Wide Web so whatever gets written down here has the possibility to be read by everyone. And frankly I don't feel comfortable to let my thoughts be known to everyone. Thirdly, what am I going to write about? Always taking buses, JC, music, it gets routine and it gets boring.
I thought about starting to write from a software developer kind of view, since I do have thoughts about software developing but I kinda feel guilty to let my current readers loose. (although not many, I believe there are quiet a lot). It's like one day you're watching the Net TV News and listening how the tourism and the economy are going so well, and the day after, on the same station, you get to listen how corrupt JPO is. Just ain't natural. People watching Net TV doesn't want to hear how JPO is corrupt, they want to hear about our national super hero, the Gonz.
But I'll think about it.
However there's one blogger, one of the first few blogs that I discovered and that is still highly active, it's La Delirante. Hopefully, she doesn't join the idle blogs, because then I really start re-thinking about this whole blogging thing. So, yeah, keep it up wen!
